IT IS NOT JUST FERRIES, IT’S ROADS AS WELL IN THIRD WORLD SCOTLAND.

A guest post from Willie Hutchison.

Quite frankly it is not just the abysmal ferry services provided by Calmac that under serves our communities and undermines their economies and social cohesion.

Todays reports of basic food stuffs such as bread and milk having to be rationed on the Western Isles due to lifeline ferry service interruptions is an absolute and utter outrage. And what in God’s name is this utterly useless Scottish Government doing about it? Focussing on Trans issues, going their holidays.

But its not just the lack of ferry services that are disrupting lives, destroying economies. Just look at the road network serving the North and West of Scotland. Look at the A82 just north of Tarbet. A national trunk road it may be but sections of it are straight out of roads from a developing country. Indeed, having had the misfortune to have to travel north a week last Sunday my average speed on the section of trunk road north of Tarbet up to the head of the loch was twenty miles an hour and at one point vehicles were stopped in both directions as a lorry and a bus struggled to inch past each other.

And only a few miles away as the crow flies the Clyde Naval Base at Faslane and nuclear warheads store at Coulport where trillions of pounds have been spent on nuclear weapons of mass destruction.

But its not just the A82 that is reminiscent of third world infrastructure. Another few miles away is the trunk road through Glen Croe to the Rest and be Thankful and another road wholly unsuited to delivering life line connectivity to Argyll. Subject to repeated closure due to landslide the Scottish Governments solution has these last ten years been to put up piecemeal netting and divert traffic onto an old 1700’s military road. You really could not make it up.

Scotland more like a third world Jockistan reminiscent of rural India and light years away from the modern infrastructure of Norway – its not just the ferries that are wanting. But its all part of a bigger issue and poor infrastructure is a hallmark of Scotland and its so called Scottish Government.

Time for change. Time we were rid of the utterly mendacious and inept Sturgeon. Time we were independent. Like Norway even. Or Qatar. Or the UAE. Three quite disparate small wealthy resource rich nations who have used their natural resources to invest in infrastructure, invest in economic development and build wealth funds for their countries.

And energy famine in cold Norway, or energy famine in hot Qatar. Of course not. Their people will have the heating or the air conditioning they need whilst Jock freezes as Scotland’s energy and wealth is siphoned off. And this is a message that over the forthcoming months will become crystal clear to even the blindest. Better Together – eh?

MY COMMENTS

Willie is right to raise this. Scotland’s road infrastructure is hopelessly outdated for the 21st Century. As an example look at the roads out of Aberdeen, you know the city whose oil wealth paid for the complete renewal of the motorway network in the South of England, That includes the M25, yet there is not even dual carriageway between Aberdeen and the Highland Capital of Inverness, much the same as the A9 between Inverness and Perth where the work on duelling the road has made progress but still seems a long way from completion. It is not good enough. Transport, whether it be ferries or roads, is in a hell of a mess and with the Greens in Government it looks like a big ask to see anything positive to resolve this. Not that the SNP on their own fills me with any confidence either.

YOURS FOR SCOTLAND

 BEAT THE CENSORS

The purpose of this blog is to advance Scottish Independence. That requires honesty and fair reporting of events and opinions. Some pro SNP Indy sites have difficulty with that and seek to ban any blogger who dares to criticise  the Party or its leader. As Yours for Scotland will not bend our principles and allow this attack on free speech to be successful we rely on our readership sharing and promoting our articles on a regular basis. This invalidates the attempts at censorship and ensures the truth gets out there. I thank you most sincerely for this important support.

That has now changed as the costs of running this blog for 2022 have already been raised in donation, therefore  for the remainder of this year  all donations made to this site will be forwarded to Salvo to help them educate Scots on the 1689 Claim of Right. This is vital work and we must all do what we can to support it.

Yours for Scotland Welcome to my long-awaited blog page. Friends have been urging me to do this for years but the technology frightened me. Now thanks to Dave Beveridge and my oldest daughter Laura I am finally in business. This blog will be totally pro-Independence for Scotland and I hope to comment on all the topical issues of the day using a bit of humour and controversy wherever I can.
