We need only triangulate Scotland’s oil, with Scotland’s relative poverty and Norway’s relative opulence to see the graphic evidence of a grotesque colonial exploitation, and if you’re still not convinced, you can augment that apparent “anomaly” by reading the McCrone Report which described Scotland’s massive potential versus deliberately orchestrated disadvantage, in advance of it all happening.
It is merely a question of semantics whether Scotland is or isn’t a colony by literal definition, when there is evidence everywhere of Scotland’s resources being plundered as a colonial exploitation, and Scotland is treated as though it was a colony.
In my humble opinion, being a colony or not being a colony is quite a hollow distinction when compared to being a sovereign Nation or not being sovereign. But, as a matter of expediency and realpolitik, the UN has various established protocols and routes to Independence via Decolonisation which could see Scotland’s exploitation considered as either a possible route to Independence by itself, or simply a body of evidence presented to the UN to explain Scotland’s predicament and thereby advance the likelihood of political understanding and International recognition.
Once we secure the interface with the UN, we can take advice on how better to proceed.
Whether Scotland is a colony or merely treated like a colony is largely academic to my mind, because the constitutional impropriety arises from Scotland NOT being respected as the sovereign nation it is.
Furthermore, the plundering of Scotland’s oil is not an isolated “symptom” of colonialism. You need only examine the problem of local families being compelled to leave their communities because they are being priced out the housing market through competition from immigrants which Scotland is denied the power to exclude and thus protect it’s own communities from uncontrolled migration.
Take these, an other strands of “colonial” style distortions to Scotland’s economy, culture, society and social integrity, and “Scottish” identity, and the strands come together as a rope you’d call Colonialism simply for the want of a better word to describe it.
It doesn’t make people look “batty” at all. What a strange thing to say when colonial behaviors and actions are self evident across the whole spectrum of daily life in Scotland. What word would you choose to describe it if not colonial / colonialism? Do tell.
MY COMMENT
Unionists get upset when we call them out on their true actions. I am sure they disputed they were fleecing India and all their other colonies. The Better Together message is not a new one.
We must be determined and organised with a good plan. That work is underway and news of it draws nearer every day.
I am, as always
Yours for Scotland.
BEAT THE CENSORS
Unfortunately some pro Indy websites are not pro Indy. They are pro SNP sites and ban any content on their sites which dares to question the SNP or the SNP leader. They seek to censor discussion and free expression. Fortunately many of my readers share the articles on Yours for Scotland frequently and because of this the attempted censorship is proving ineffective. This support is very important and I thank everyone who share and protect freedom of speech and choice.
