CAROLINE BECOMES THE LATEST RECRUIT.

Delighted to read that the excellent Caroline McAllister becomes the latest recruit to the Alba Party and will be contesting the list in the West of Scotland region.

She is of course the elected Women’s Convener on the SNP NEC and joins Lynne Anderson, the elected NEC Equalities Convener in joining the Alba Party and both being candidates for the Party in the 6th May elections.

These two excellent people joining the Alba Party is hugely significant. They stood as recently as November 2020 to win their posts and the SNP Party Conference in their wisdom determined they were best placed to look after and lead on these important issues.

The fact that not one, but both have re assessed the best way forward on these issues and both came to the same conclusion that Alex Salmond and the ALBA Party offered the best way forward on women’s and equalities issues, this must be a huge embarrassment to Nicola’s smear campaign. When the elected leaders in her own Party decide on these important issues trust Alex Salmond more than the Leader of the SNP then it’s perhaps time for the smearing to stop because her credibility on the issues is now completely shot, in the same way that the jury made short shift of the Alphabet women’s allegations. You know the folk Nicola claims she doesn’t know

SNP NATIONAL WOMEN’S CONVENER CLLR CAROLINE MCALLISTER TO STAND IN WEST OF SCOTLAND FOR ALBA PARTY
CAROLINE MCALLISTER the former National Women’s Convener of the SNP, will contest the West of Scotland Region at the upcoming Scottish Parliament elections for the Alba Party. 
The West Dunbartonshire Councillor has relinquished her National Office Bearer position on the SNP’s ruling National Executive Committee, to transfer to the Alba Party to help deliver a supermajority at the upcoming Holyrood elections. 
The move comes on the back of the SNP’s National Equalities Convener, Lynne Anderson, also resigning from the SNP’s ruling executive body to contest the Scottish Parliament election for the Alba Party. 
Commenting Cllr Caroline McAllister said;
“I am delighted to join the Alba Party. As a Councillor, and the former SNP National Women’s Convener, I’m really looking forward to working with my colleagues in the Alba Party to ensure women’s rights are front and centre of the new Scottish Parliament I hope to be a member of.”

MY FINAL COMMENT

I was asked to put my name forward as a candidate on the West of Scotland list but I declined because I think and believe my best contribution to the Party’s campaign can be best delivered through my blog. I am therefore delighted that high quality candidates like Chris and Caroline are going to fly the banner in the West of Scotland. They will be great candidates who I will be very pleased to support as best I can.

Finally can I give Nicola a tip. Without revealing all I know can I congratulate SNP Members in Dumbarton and her council colleagues on the council for the dignified and generous manner they have responded to Caroline’s news. The SNP Leaders in Holyrood and Westminster could learn much from their decency and honesty. You don’t suddenly become a bad person because you choose a different path.
