“near certainly a man”
Oh dear. Should I interpret that as hate speech or just a Freudian slip? Aren’t we all supposed to be women under Nicola Sturgeon’s regime, even those who sport a beard and proudly boast of their male genitalia?
“too embarrassed to put their name to it”
One look at your avatar tells me that you are projecting and speaking about yourself on this.
Let me ask you, why don’t all those new-labourites currently operating under an SNP flag campaign to gain seats under the New Labour flag instead? Are they too embarrassed to be seen by voters as having no interest in Scotland’s independence?
I mean, political parties are dishonest by nature, we all know that. But don’t you think infiltrating your political party nemesis, to destroy it from within leaving just a shell that still can fool voters into thinking they are voting for the original thing is an step to far to beat your nemesis in the race of accessing the seats? Isn’t that taking dishonesty to a whole new level? Isn’t also profoundly undemocratic to cheat voters into thinking they are getting something you never have any intention to deliver?
“Yet tomorrow Alba folks will be calling for “Yes Unity””
Good for them. Seeking unity of the yes movement is what will lead us to independence, not Sturgeon’s toxic strategy of continuously “divide and conquer”. If Sturgeon and her New-labour gang within the SNP had called for yes unity in 2021 instead of fabricating yes disunity and cosying up to the colonial parties with her bogus SNP1 and 2 we would have a pro-independence supermajority today in Holyrood. We could even be independent by now.
If Sturgeon and her band of merry-go-round devolutionists, of which I take you might be one, had sought yes unity in the last council elections instead of uniting her party efforts with the colonial parties to frustrate yes majorities in the councils, we would not have tories and labour controlling so many councils today and would be more prone to take on board a non-binding consultative referendum. But maybe that is her strategy after all: ensure that if she is pushed to call a referendum she clearly does not have intention to call, this would not have democratic validity.
And what about the fabricated disunity where the most senior representative of Scotland, a country which is an equal signatory of a treaty of union and therefore with a legitimate right to terminate that union, bypasses Scotland’s courts undermining our sovereignty and the efforts of those MPs in 1707 to ensure the independence of our body of law and courts, and goes directly to an English court to beg for permission for a referendum, with a draft rather than an actual bill and knowing too well that this court cannot possibly be impartial and objective to a matter which may lead to this court’s own termination and when this court has no jurisdiction over the right of the people of Scotland in the form of its MPs to terminate the treaty of union?
This is the move of somebody that is desperate to preserve the union and desperate to undermine Scotland and the authority and power of Scotland’s own MPs. But, wasn’t removing the teeth of our pro-independence MP majorities the first thing she did when she took over from Mr Salmond?
What kind of game can you be playing when you have a motorway without speed limit open in front of you and instead of taking it, you insist, actually demand, for nothing less than 7 years to force your bus through an undersized C-road without tarmac, full of obstacles, impossible bends, and knee deep paddles?
That is not the route somebody serious about seeking independence would take. That is the route somebody desperate to preserve the union and to stall independence at all costs would take.
All the pieces of the puzzle appear to point in the same direction, don’t they? It is a pity that the direction they are pointing towards is 180 degrees away from independence.
I am not a member of ALBA, but I will be voting for them. Why? Because they showed on Wednesday that, differently to the SNP amoebas who have already wasted 7 years of our time and appear prepared to waste another 7 given the chance, they are in England as the UK parliament to settle up, not to settle down.
“Are they even serious?”
Were Nicola Sturgeon and the New Labourites in her pretend SNP party ever serious about independence for the 7 years of MP majorities they wasted us so far?
“to make themselves feel good?”
In what universe does feeling embarrassment and betrayal from watching how the people you voted in to deliver independence and to protect the interests of your country proceed to do the precise opposite using your votes to preserve the union and to legitimise the continuous abuse of England MPs over Scotland and Scotland’s MPs?
In what dystopian world you have to live in to even think that any real pro-independence voter would feel good watching how the party of independence as Mr Salmond left it is now a nest of vindictive and complacent cowards who instead of standing up for their fellow pro-independence colleagues and their country, prefer to join forces and enable the abuse by the colonial benches of braying self-entitled England MPs, by sitting in their hands or worse, actively criticising their fellow countrymen who at least had the balls to stand up for Scotland?
Watching those two Alba MPs standing up for Scotland made me feel good for first time in 7 years. Watching how they stood up and kept talking in the face of a disgusting and completely inappropriate display of misplaced rage and unprofessional lack of composure exhibited by that England MP sitting as “speaker” made me feel very proud. They have all my respect and admiration. They made me feel relief too because despite how Sturgeon has wasted our votes and destroyed our main pro-independence vehicle causing irreparable damage to the confidence and trust of many pro-independence voters, I can see that there are at least 2 MPs with integrity who are serious when they say they seek independence and they were sent to Westminster to settle up.
MY COMMENT
In the interest of fairness I know Citizen Smart quite well having repeatedly come across him all over the country with his guitar busking for Independence during the 2014 Referendum. He wrote a particularly moving song about Margo MacDonald for the Margo Mobile. While being ex Labour I have no doubt he is a committed Independence supporter who is only guilty of a misjudgement in thinking MIA was of the male gender. If he had read this blog more often he would have known better. So there is the solution Alan.
I am, as always
Yours for Scotland.
BEAT THE CENSORS
Unfortunately some pro Indy sites operate censorship if a blogger dares to criticise the SNP, no matter how justified that criticism might be. This transforms them from being pro Indy sites to being only propaganda sites for one Party. By this very act they damage Independence by limiting freedom of speech. Never a very wise action. Sensible people enjoy debate and like to decide for themselves and not have this determined for them by others. This site promotes Independence and does not censor except in exceptional circumstances where abuse or known falsehoods are submitted. Please share articles from this site to overcome all attempts to close down free speech in Scotland.

SALVO
Now that Salvo has been launched it needs everybody to join and get behind this important, vital even, development. I have never encouraged readers to donate to Yours for Scotland indeed I operate a limit that even when people are overcome and demand the ability to donate I operate a strict limit of £3 per donation. I said that any excess to the costs of running this site would go to worthy Yes events. I have made some donations in the past but yesterday I gave a three figure sum to Salvo. I want to do more so while I am keeping, at this stage, the maximum donation to £3 I am now encouraging readers of Yours for Scotland to donate regularly with the assurance that every penny raised, over the running costs of this site, will be donated to Salvo. Salvo is a people’s movement and it needs us, the people of Scotland, to give them the funds they need. Thank you.
