Dear Mr Lawson,
Thank you for your letter to the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Rt Revd Sally Foster-Fulton. The Moderator has seen your correspondence and asked me to respond on her behalf.
Mrs Foster-Fulton notes your concerns about the Honours of Scotland, but has asked me to clarify that her role is an honorary one, and this is not a matter on which she has authority to intervene.
Thank you again for taking the time to get in contact.
Kind regards,
Catherine

Re: Letter to the Moderator
Many thanks for your reply. I am surprised that the Moderator did not undertake to pass my correspondence to whoever does have authority to intervene. I would be grateful for the correspondence contact details of this person or committee so that I can follow up with them.
It may interest the Moderator to know that many thousands of people have read my original letter and in line with my social media promise I will share this response with them.
Best Wishes

MY COMMENT
I am now clearly in the delay phase, but given the proximity of the 5th July event I will continue to pursue a clear reply. I know if someone wrote to me and I knew who they should have contacted I would have passed the correspondence on. Rather surprising the Moderator does not follow this practice. I wonder if it only applies in the case of potentially embarrassing matters.
